The Monstrum Marksman Ultracompakt Micro Prism Scope is a prism scope optic with a fixed magnification - available in 2x, 3x, and 5x magnifications. It comes with our all-new Ultracompakt prism optic assembly making it shorter and lighter than previous generation prism optics. Why choose a prism scope over a red dot sight? Sharper reticle than a red dot sight Red dot reticles are projected using a laser reflecting against a plane of glass and can result in a starburst effect at higher brightness intensities. They can be notoriously blurry for shooters with astigmatism. Prism scope reticles are etched in glass, produces less distortion than a red dot, and are easier for the eye to focus on, especially for shooters with astigmatism. Works with or without illumination Red dot reticles require both a powered laser source and an on/off mechanism. This makes them susceptible to running out of battery power or to malfunction. The prism scope reticles are etched into the glass and remain visible with or without illumination. Prism scopes can be offered with magnification Red dot sights are by design 1x optics.
